Introduction

The global urban landscape is facing an unprecedented double challenge: accelerating climate vulnerability and rapid demographic shifts. True sustainability can no longer be defined by simply limiting damage or maintaining the status quo. It demands a paradigm shift toward active regeneration, building urban systems that restore ecological balance, leverage advanced technologies, and foster intergenerational continuity.

ReGreen ‘27 places a specific emphasis on the transformative potential of regenerative design, exploring how built environments can actively contribute to the vitality of the ecosystems they inhabit. By focusing on the intersection of resource efficiency, circular economy principles, and adaptive architectural strategies, the congress aims to redefine the urban experience as one that supports, rather than depletes, our natural world.

We are proud to introduce “Regenerative Urbanism and Green Cities” (ReGreen), a premier international platform born from the strategic synthesis of our legacy forums on “Green Urbanism” and “Urban Regeneration and Sustainability.” By merging these complementary disciplines, ReGreen serves as the definitive global confluence where macro-level urban strategy meets micro-level architectural innovation.

Conference Scope

ReGreen functions as a premier international hub for the convergence of diverse academic and professional expertise. It brings together global researchers, architects, artists, and urban planners to engage in critical dialogue regarding the transformation of the contemporary city. By examining the interplay between architectural design, ecological restoration, and socio-economic dynamics, the scope of this conference is to foster multidisciplinary research that addresses the urgent need to protect urban environments in a rapidly evolving global context.

ReGreen provides a dedicated space for exploring how cities can evolve from mere consumers of resources into regenerative hubs. It encourages participants to move beyond traditional planning toward holistic models that integrate nature-based solutions, advanced digital intelligence, and inclusive community frameworks.

Statement of Purpose

ReGreen aims to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary forum that bridges the gap between historical preservation, technological advancement, and sustainable urban evolution. Our mission is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, methodologies, and best practices among scholars and practitioners. By examining the synergy between regenerative design and green infrastructure, we aim to offer actionable insights that empower urban planners, artists, and policymakers to lead the transition toward carbon-neutral and socially equitable urban futures.
