Introduction

The international conference on "Architecture, Engineering, and Technology" is not limited to a specific aspect of science and engineering; but is instead devoted to a wide range of subfields in the engineering sciences. While it encourages a broad spectrum of contributions and discussions in the engineering sciences, its core interest lies in utilizing engineering with technology innovations to achieve sustainable development and meet the ever-growing demands of society.

Engineering science is a broad discipline that encompasses many different scientific principles and associated mathematics that underlie engineering. It integrates engineering, biological, chemical, mathematical, and physical sciences with the arts, humanities, social sciences, and the professions to tackle the most demanding challenges and advance the well-being of global society.

Among other disciplines of engineering, architecture and architectural engineering occupy a distinguished place. Combining art, science, and technology, it deals with a multi-disciplinary approach to planning, design, construction, and operation, such as analysis and integrated design of environmental systems, structural systems, behavior, and properties of building components and materials, in addition to construction management and landscape architecture.

Scientific research in engineering and technology has been always playing a vital role in civilizations' development and evolution. As new knowledge and more powerful analytical and experimental methods expand the power of engineering in practice, problems of design and development once considered too complex to be dealt with other than empirically, intuitively, or by trial and error have become solvable and applicable. That's why The 4th International Conference on "Architecture, Engineering, and Technology" will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from the 11th to the 13th of January 2021.

AET-2021 represents the ideal academic platform to spark discussions and present the latest research findings in all aspects of engineering sciences and technology. It also discusses the impact of engineering and technology on the economy, society, environment, management, and quality of life.

Moreover, AET international conference avails the opportunity for interested researchers, scholars, scientists, architects, and engineers from around the globe to submit their research papers and get them published in highly-ranked international journals by the esteemed publishers Springer and IEREK Press. Noting that submitted researches must be in the scope of at least one of the official conference topics and abiding the submission instructions.

Egypt is a spectacularly beautiful country filled with a plethora of cultural gems.  A country anyone would be lucky to experience and check off their bucket list. Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the largest city in Africa, with a name that translates to "the victorious city." It encompasses both banks of the River Nile near the head of the river's delta in northern Egypt. Its centrality made it sovereign over a lot of lands for more than 6,000 years, serving as the capital of numerous Egyptian kingdoms.

Your Trip To Cairo, Egypt

Egypt is a spectacularly beautiful country filled with a plethora of cultural gems.  A country anyone would be lucky to experience and check off their bucket list. Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the largest city in Africa, with a name that translates to "the victorious city." It encompasses both banks of the River Nile near the head of the river's delta in northern Egypt. Its centrality made it sovereign over a lot of lands for more than 6,000 years, serving as the capital of numerous Egyptian kingdoms.

The following are some suggestions of places to visit while you are in Cairo, Egypt.

  1. Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx

Visiting the most ancient of the Seven Wonders of the World (and the only wonder that survived the ages) should be on every bucket list. For me, it certainly was a dream come true. You must not miss the Sphinx as well. It marks the entrance to an ancient mortuary temple and many myths are told about its construction. Some claim it’s over 10,000 years old, while others believe it was built by the Pharaoh of the second pyramid, Khafraa, around 2,500 BC. As I am no Egyptologist, I stuck with just admiring the ancient landmark.

  1. Egyptian Museum

There is no place in the world where you will find more artifacts of ancient Egypt than in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Located right on the famous Tahrir Square, the colonial building houses the golden hoard from the tomb of Tutankhamun and so many other old Egyptian artifacts.

  1. Khan el-Khalili (shopping quarter)

There is no finer place to go shopping for Egyptian memorabilia than the “Khan el-Khalili” district in the historic center of Islamic Cairo. It is not only incredibly beautiful with all its mosques and ancient arches, it’s also a buzzing area with souvenir shops, restaurants, street cafes and quite a history, making it one of the most fun things to do in Cairo at night.

  1. Cairo Citadel

Considerably younger, but still a must-see in Cairo is the Cairo Citadel sitting on the hills of the east side of the Nile. It once served as a fortress and now houses beautiful mosques and the National Military Museum of Egypt.

A number one reason to go there is to visit the Mosque of Muhammad Ali (not the boxer!), or how it is often called the Alabaster Mosque. It’s the grandest sacred building in the city and quite the iconic sight.
