Introduction

Shoes and Accessories are the true expression of the concept of ‘craftsmanship’: during the course participants learn about Italian style and quality, discovering how these aspects influence and play an important role in the global luxury fashion market. Accessories and Shoes represent more and more a consistent element within fashion brands’ collections, with sales and market share increasing year by year. Home to many world-famous luxury brands, Florence is a hub of creativity, and has long been recognized as the world capital for leather and luxury accessories production - upholding the ‘Made in Italy’ ideal, renowned for style, quality and top-class manufacturing techniques.

The Shoes and Accessories Design course provides participants with a stimulating learning environment in which innovation, excellence and originality are investigated and developed through both theoretical and practical lessons, with the help of a faculty made of field-related professionals and many practitioners operating in the territory. The course explores creative research techniques in order to contextualize design ideas for development of the finished product, designing for the luxury market as well as experimenting with contemporary fashion and new attitudes emerging in the industry today, such as sustainability and innovative materials.

Meeting the needs of those with limited time available, this intensive one-year course provides the technical and theoretical concepts linked to the design of accessories and shoes and their production techniques, cultivating a new generation of accessories and footwear artisans, all set in the birthplace of Italian leather goods, home to key players in the accessories and shoes industry: Firenze.

Combine Programme

One Year Courses + Master’s Courses

For students who choose combined programmes, € 5.000 will be deducted from the tuition fee of the master programme.

After this period no deduction will be applicable on the tuition fee.
Access to the combined programmes is subject to the possession of a university degree and to obtaining the one-year course certificate, according to the academic year and after approval by the admissions committee at the end of the one-year course.
