Prof. Aleya Mahmoud Abdel-Hadi had her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, in 1965, then had her Master of Arts in Interior Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. In the year 1981 Prof. Aleya became a Graduate Student, Home Economic Dept., Univ. of Iowa, Ia. USA and a Research Fellow, Architecture Dept., MIT, Mass. USA.
Later she got the Ph.D. in Interior Architecture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University.
She filled in the positions as:
- 2001-2003 : Vice-Dean of Post-Graduate Studies and Research at Fine Arts Cairo, HU.
- 1998-2000 : Dean of the College of Architecture and Arts, the University of Petra, Jordan.
- 1995-1998 : Head of Interior Design Department, College of Architecture and Arts, the University of Petra, Amman, Jordan.
- 1995 : Professor of Interior Architecture, Fine Arts Cairo, Helwan University.
- 1988 : Associate Professor of Interior Architecture, Fine Arts Cairo, HU.
- 1977 : Assistant Professor of Interior Architecture, Fine Arts Cairo, HU.
- 1976 : Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Décor, Fine Arts Cairo, HU.
- 1970 : Demonstrator in the Department of Décor, Fine Arts Cairo.
- 1969 : Demonstrator in the Department of Décor, Fine Arts Alexandria.
- 1966-1969 : Fine Arts Specialist at the National Palace of Culture- Alexandria. Duties: Poster Design, Art Teaching, Display of Art and Book Exhibits.
Currently, she is a Professor Emeritus, Interior Architecture, Fine Arts, Helwan University.
