Varico da Costa Pereira has a degree and a Master's degree in Tourism from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Portugal) and a Diploma in Advanced Studies from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in Human Geography. He is a professor at the Portuguese Catholic University and at the Maia University Institute. Board of the Bom Jesus Hotel Society, member of the board of the National Work of the Pastoral of Tourism and Secretary of the Confrary of Bom Jesus, where he coordinated the application for World Heritage of UNESCO, and Vice-President of the Braga Commercial Association. His research area has always been linked to tourism, namely cultural and religious tourism. He has participated in several conferences, congresses and seminars and has published some articles and books on the theme, such as: PEREIRA, Varico da Costa (2008), “Cultural and Religious Tourism in Braga and Santiago de Compostela: Proposal to create a product ”, published by the Galicia Tourism Board and Guide of Bom Jesus do Monte, published in 2018, by the Confraria do Bom Jesus.
