Anis Shobirin Meor Hussin has completed her PhD at the age of 35 years from International Islamic University, Malaysia and did her postdoctoral studies (visiting scientist) from Institute of Food Research, UK for 2 years. She is the Head Department of Food Science for the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She has published more than 40 papers in reputed journals. Her current research focus is developing starter cultures for plant-based fermentation process with the goal to produce several metabolites with biological activities. She aim to produce a functional foods with low cost and high value for health benefits
