Architecture Technology

Architectural technology, a field more technical than it is artistic, integrates applications of construction and design to answer to architectural issues. It helps develop creatively constructed buildings through the work of architects, structural engineers, architectural building engineers, and architectural technologists working alongside construction workers and other building professionals, during the structural development process.

Playing a vital role in the evolution of architecture over the years, technologies of different times have been reflected in the varying styles of architecture throughout history. These technological advancements are often used to identify how far a civilization went through analyzing how complex their creations were, as well as the remaining physical remnants that reflected development in that era. After the industrial revolution, architecture took a turn making a city identifiable by its architecture and the expressions it echoed. By the beginning of the 20th century, new building technologies were being created and the possibilities made endless. Architectural technology, simply, became a way of looking into the future.

Now, using different technologies, not only can you imagine an artificial world, but you can also walk through it and easily explore. These spaces are created using a combination of computer programs, wireless tracking technologies, headsets, HD projectors, polarized glass and more; all working together to create interactive and hyper-realistic experiences.

Over the last few years, the construction industry has been subject to big changes.

Nowadays, collaborative design has become an increasingly popular approach to architectural projects, coupled with a huge focus on the importance of green infrastructure and energy efficiency. With the emergence of 3D modeling and use of new materials, the overall shape of buildings has changed and has become more innovative.

With robots, drones and 3D printing, some aspects of architecture have been perfected; as architects use machines to bring their creations to life in different and complex ways. However, this is not where it ends. A new and expanding variety of shapes in construction is yet to be seen. This advancement of technology means that architecture will no longer be limited by human capabilities.
