Medical Tourism is one of the most important sources of income for lots of counties, there are many reasons that stimulate people to travel from one place to another, other than visiting touristic sites, that type of tourism is about receiving treatment.
Medical tourism commonly refers to the travel of people from their country of residence to another country for the purpose of receiving medical treatment. That tourism is known by many names like medical tourism, health tourism, medical journey, or cross border healthcare.
The history of medical tourism:
The invention of medicines started around 3000 B. C., when the Egyptians used treatments to fight diseases, and performed basic surgeries by general examination of the patient and by speculation of treatments, or magic they usually cured the patient.
It dates back thousands of years, when Greek pilgrims travelled from all countries on the Mediterranean to a small territory in the sardonic gulf called Epidauria, which became a famous medical tourism destination later on.
Spa town were the form of early medical tourism, where people travel to these towns for medical tourism, in 1326, a little village in east Belgium gained fame after the discovery of the iron-rich hot springs, it developed into a health resort in the 16th century.

The increase in the cost of medical procedures and the lack of health insurance coverage in many countries, are the reason that drive people to think of other alternatives to receive quality care at affordable prices, and medical tourism is the best option and lots of travelling agencies are working hard to facilitate that process.

Sharm El-Sheikh is an Egyptian resort town between the desert of the Sinai Peninsula and the Red Sea. It’s famous for its sheltered sandy beaches, clear waters and coral reefs. Ras Muhammad National Park is a major diving destination, with marine life around the Shark and Yolanda reefs and the Thistlegorm wreck.
