Introduction

The importance of geographical sciences has increased where it describes the physical properties of the Earth, seas, and cosmic void and their activities. It also focuses on human societies, their locations and movements spread across the Earth. Geographical sciences examine the interaction between human culture and the context of the natural environment.

It explains the changing and the development that has occurred on Earth overtime and which contributes to spatial analysis and climate changes. Geographical sciences are not just limited to Earth matters but also extends to other matters and fields such as those that have to do with marine life.

Human activities have a direct impact on shaping and transforming the Earth’s surface, these activities are the reasoning behind threats on spatial context such as water pollution caused by artificial waste. Physical geography focuses on the natural environment, it contains many disciplines of studies such as: Earth’s seasons, climate, atmosphere, soil, streams, landforms, geomorphology, glaciology, pedology, hydrology, climatology, biogeography, and oceanography.

As a result of the recent studies that explore the significance of geographical studies, many software applications and computerized systems have been developed. Such systems allow for precise calculations of how things are distributed and relate them to one another, this has made the study of geographic information systems (GIS) an increasingly important specialty within geography.

Many techniques have recently appeared that helped facilitate the use of geography in other various studies. The tremendous scientific development that the whole world has witnessed has become crucial for these applications such as weather and climate informatics, Global Positioning System (GPS), spatial changes, mapping, environmental sciences, navigation, physical sciences, and geological sciences and so on.

And so, IEREK has decided to run its first international conference on “Recent Studies and Applications in Geographical Sciences.” The conference will be held annually and each year it will discuss a different aspect of the wide-ranging science of geography. This latest conference will discuss scientific theories and discoveries as well as new applications and aspects of their use.Scholars, researchers, scholars, decision makers, specialists, and even students are all invited to attend to enrich all forthcoming discussions and as well as help us further contribute to the knowledge exchange while contributing to furthering science.
Accepted papers have the chance to be published in a Scopus-indexed book series titled Advances in Science, Technology, and Innovation (ASTI) by Springer. A special issue will also be published in the Scopus-indexed journal of Geographical Sciences by Springer.

Scope

The “Recent Studies and Applications in Geographical Sciences (RSAGS)” conference series envelops a multitude of geographical disciplines such as human geography, economic geography, geomorphology, and neogeography. The series will consist of multiple issues that tackle separate geographical topics independently, and extensively. Geography is a broad, far-reaching scientific field, thus, IEREK seeks to address a multitude of geographic studies ranging from physical and economic geography, to human and social geography. The series also seeks to tackle technological advancements in geography, cartography, sustainable development techniques, and societal and cultural economic norms.

Statement of Purpose

We owe it to ourselves to study the most wonderful creation of all. RSAGS aims to delve deeper into the scientific field of geography, and comprehensively analyze its many topics. From physical geography and the study of geomorphology, urban environment interaction, digital geography applications, and crisis management techniques, to social geography and economic ideologies used by spaces around the world, RSAGS aims to elevate contemporary understanding of geographical studies, and promote research and analysis surrounding the field.

About ASTI

Advances in Science, Technology & Innovation (ASTI) is a series of peer-reviewed books based on important emerging research that redefines the current disciplinary boundaries in science, technology and innovation (STI) in order to develop integrated concepts for sustainable development. It not only discusses the progress made towards securing more resources, allocating smarter solutions, and rebalancing the relationship between nature and people, but also provides in-depth insights from comprehensive research that addresses the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) as set out by the UN for 2030.

The series draws on the best research papers from various IEREK and other international conferences to promote the creation and development of viable solutions for a sustainable future and a positive societal transformation with the help of integrated and innovative science-based approaches. Including interdisciplinary contributions, it presents innovative approaches and highlights how they can best support both economic and sustainable development, through better use of data, more effective institutions, and global, local and individual action, for the welfare of all societies. The series particularly features conceptual and empirical contributions from various interrelated fields of science, technology and innovation, with an emphasis on digital transformation, that focus on providing practical solutions to ensure food, water and energy security to achieve the SDGs. It also presents new case studies offering concrete examples of how to resolve sustainable urbanization and environmental issues in different regions of the world. Read More.

The ASTI series is fully indexed in Scopus and any chapter/ paper published as part of this series will be seen on the Scopus database. Some titles have been successfully indexed or submitted for indexation in Web of Science (ISI).
