The importance of geographical sciences has increased where it describes the physical properties of the Earth, seas, and cosmic void and their activities. It also focuses on human societies, their locations and movements spread across the Earth. Geographical sciences examine the interaction between human culture and the context of the natural environment.
It explains the changing and the development that has occurred on Earth overtime and which contributes to spatial analysis and climate changes. Geographical sciences are not just limited to Earth matters but also extends to other matters and fields such as those that have to do with marine life.
Human activities have a direct impact on shaping and transforming the Earth’s surface, these activities are the reasoning behind threats on spatial context such as water pollution caused by artificial waste. Physical geography focuses on the natural environment, it contains many disciplines of studies such as: Earth’s seasons, climate, atmosphere, soil, streams, landforms, geomorphology, glaciology, pedology, hydrology, climatology, biogeography, and oceanography.
As a result of the recent studies that explore the significance of geographical studies, many software applications and computerized systems have been developed. Such systems allow for precise calculations of how things are distributed and relate them to one another, this has made the study of geographic information systems (GIS) an increasingly important specialty within geography.
Many techniques have recently appeared that helped facilitate the use of geography in other various studies. The tremendous scientific development that the whole world has witnessed has become crucial for these applications such as weather and climate informatics, Global Positioning System (GPS), spatial changes, mapping, environmental sciences, navigation, physical sciences, and geological sciences and so on.
And so, IEREK has decided to run its first international conference on “Recent Studies and Applications in Geographical Sciences.” The conference will be held annually and each year it will discuss a different aspect of the wide-ranging science of geography. This latest conference will discuss scientific theories and discoveries as well as new applications and aspects of their use.
Scholars, researchers, scholars, decision makers, specialists, and even students are all invited to attend to enrich all forthcoming discussions and as well as help us further contribute to the knowledge exchange while contributing to furthering science. Accepted papers have the chance to be published in a Scopus-indexed book series titled Advances in Science, Technology, and Innovation (ASTI) by Springer. A special issue will also be published in the Scopus-indexed journal of Geographical Sciences by Springer.
