The principle of green urbanism focuses on zero waste, zero emission, recycling, and natural resources. It aims to bring back a clean environment, water sanitation, and a better quality of life. The currently available transportations produce car exhaust, which negatively affects the environment and is a reason for the current climate change issue, which also negatively affects people through the daily traffic suffering during the walk to work and schools.

It’s a fact that heatwaves threaten human health. It’s also a  scientific fact that trees, orchards, and green areas evaporate water which helps reduce the temperature stress in cities. Studies show that trees and green areas are the best environmental cleaner and are the best way to bring back the balance to our environment again.

The green urbanism concept represents an economic value since green increases the value of buildings, offices, and houses. Combined with sustainable development techniques and urban planning, the green urbanism concept will help preserve our cities and environment for future generations to enjoy.

Currently, many worldwide organizations are trying to incorporate the green initiative in their day-to-day operations. They now consider using clean energy, recycling, introducing more greenery into their facilities, and achieving technologically advanced and environmentally friendly green buildings.

Following this green quest, IEREK is now organizing the 7th Edition of the International Conference on Green Urbanism. Similar to the previous editions and following their success, this conference will discuss many topics such as the general principles of green urbanism, green infrastructure, improving urban performance, and the transformation to the desired sustainable green environment.

IEREK invites all academics, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders to discuss and present the current advancements and case studies for achieving green urbanism.
