Ibrahim Maarouf is an Associate Professor of Architecture in the Department of Architecture at Alexandria University. From 2012, he was in the Faculty of Architectural Engineering at Beirut Arab University, where he taught architectural design, construction, and history of Islamic architecture, vernacularism, and urban planning. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Architectural Engineering Department at Pharos University, Alexandria. His research covers architectural heritage, urban design, and theory and history of architecture. As a member of the Committee of the Higher Education Development in the Alexandria Region, he participates in academic development programmes. He is a referee for articles in the Architecture and Planning Journal of Beirut Arab University. Through his private practice, he has wide experience in designing projects in the Middle East.
