Alessandro De Masi
Architect Alessandro De Masi holds a M.A. 2 in Ingénierie des Projets Immobiliers, from the Université de Valenciennes et du Hainaut, France, and a Ph.D. in Relief and Representation of the architecture and the environment from the Second University of Naples, Italy.
Alessandro De Masi is a member of UNESCO Forum and he is on the international research team for the “Rural Vernacular Heritage – 2007-2011? Created by UNESCO World Heritage Centre, France. He has been nominated expert for the QSN 2010-13 (National Development Framework) and for the Central Institute for Catalogue and Documentation 2010-13, both promoted by Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
He is on the Editorial Board of Portugal’s IJHSD (International Journal of Heritage and Sustainable Development – Green Lines Institute for Sustainable Development), Associate Editor of the Image (USA)? Vol. 1, and member of the Scientific Committee for “Heritage 2012 – 3rd International Conference on Heritage and Sustainable Development” held in Porto, Portugal, in June 2012. He was also a speaker at several international conferences (12th and 11th UNESCO Forum, 21st and 24 st ICOMOS CIPA, EURAU08, 16th ICOMOS General Assembly). The results of his research have been presented at:
- XI Settimana della Cultura Italiana (2009)- The Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities – Presentation Court Theatre, Royal Palace;
- IX Settimana della Cultura Italiana (2007) – The Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities – Presentation Court Theatre, Royal Palace;
- Transmission of television RaiUtile (23.03.07) dedicated to Cultural Heritage; and reported in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
In Italy, Alessandro De Masi teaches Architectural Drawing at Milan Polytechnic (II Faculty of Architecture), University of Trento (Faculty of Engineering), University of Padova (Faculty of Engineering) and Free University of Bozen (Faculty of Education). He previously taught Architectural Survey at Milan Polytechnic (I Faculty of Architecture), University of Bologna and University of Trieste (Faculty of Architecture), Projective and descriptive geometry at the Venice University of IUAV, Drawing at the University of Naples Federico II (Faculty of Architecture) and Architecture of Landscape at Basilicata University.
He is author of 54 publications, among them the text Architettura Rurale tra Villa Literno e Carinola (Ce), Alinea., Florence 2006 (ITALY), which received no 17 sponsorships and in particular the Council of Europe, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, the Campania Region, the Province of Caserta and the University of Malta – Links Campus. Moreover he is results 3rd Classified, Prize of Architecture for Young Architects and Engineers for the Redevelopment Urban Area of the lot called (Naples) – National Competition of Architecture 2003.
